has anyone used 4 graphite arbors sandwiched together for a seat to tape or wrap a reel on? Should I wrap over with thread or just coat with finish and go? If you havent figured , Im realy going for light weight and sensitivity.
Also, does anyone no were to get carbon wrap tape if you will ? Re: use of arbors as reel seat

What Flex Coat sells as arbors are the same sort of urethane product that we detailed for use in making grip cores. So, yes, it's feasible. The foam is quite hard (try denting the Flex Coat stuff with your fingernail) but it wouldn't be a bad idea to coat with something to further harden the surface. A carbon skin, a coat of epoxy or urethane (several), flocking (which is what I began experimenting with foam for so many years ago) or thread and finish. There are a lot of ways you could do this.

MY choice would be thread and finish Re: use of arbors as reel seat

The full length Pac Bay arbors are MUCH harder than the Flex Coat, and much stronger. They would be my first choice for this type of application.
Good Luck, Marc Re: use of arbors as reel seat
