Hello,
While scuffing the finish for the final finish coat, I hit the clear area of the waterslide decal and scuffed it. It's in an area that I can't cut out, so I'm wondering if the finish coat will dry clear and fill in the scuffs, or will it dry cloudy? Thanks in advance for your help, Steve Re: Decal Scuff

Steve; If you already had a coat of finish over the decal it shouldn't be problem. But if there was no finish over the decal,,,,,,then I don't know.
Maybe someone else will chime in here that has had the same problem. J.B.Hunt Bowling Green, KY Re: Decal Scuff

Not sure what you mean. Is there finish on the decal? Next question is why are you scuffing the finish? Unless it's been more than 72 hours since you applied the previous coat, it isn't necessary Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! hes asking if the effect of wetting the decal with finish will hide the scuff marks he made by mistake on it. much like sanding finish then applying another coat then it looks as if it were never sanded. If I had to guess I would think it will UNLESS there is sanding dust stuck in the scuff lines. Re: Decal Scuff

I accidentally sanded the decal before applying the finish coat. After an experiment, I decided that the finish coat would cover the scuff marks and all is good now.
Thanks, Steve Re: Decal Scuff

If things like that happen in the future, youc an always put a drop of water or two over the area and you can see if it shows the marks. You can go from there. Jimi Ellis Southern Grafix www.SouthernGrafix.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
