Having made a few decent rod wraps with the standard nylon A size thread, I moved into weaving.
Home made V shaped loom. After 3 attempts I have an ok looking result. Tightness is good and threads not too frayed. Pattern is 50 threads wide by 120 long or so, lots of single left/right maneuvers. My first questions is, are there different types of threads better suited for weaving? Re: Type of thread for weaving

"A" design over "C" or "D" wrap is about the most common. Madeira or Sulky Polyester embroidery threads are also good. Fish Hawk is a good thread as well as Gudebrod. You can also use silk. Re: Type of thread for weaving

The Fish Hawk silks are fine for this application.
