Type of thread for weaving

Having made a few decent rod wraps with the standard nylon A size thread, I moved into weaving.
Home made V shaped loom. After 3 attempts I have an ok looking result. Tightness is good and threads not too frayed. Pattern is 50 threads wide by 120 long or so, lots of single left/right maneuvers.
My first questions is, are there different types of threads better suited for weaving?

"A" design over "C" or "D" wrap is about the most common. Madeira or Sulky Polyester embroidery threads are also good. Fish Hawk is a good thread as well as Gudebrod. You can also use silk.

Thanks

The Fish Hawk silks are fine for this application.
