Why don't you get some block EVA and strat with that. This way, you will have plenty to work with. I am considering making my own KPDS by partially boring the eva to 19mm to fit over the hood and then coming from the other side with the blank diameter. All final shaping will be done post internmal boring. Re: Boring EVA?

You can also do the EVA in 2 pieces and glue them together with contact cement. One piece to suit the blank diameter, and one piece the slightly greater than length of the KDPS sleeve and appropriate diameter. Mount the sleeve on a tape bushing wrapped on a mandrel. Glue on the sleeve piece, leaving the overlap, then using CC glue the end cap on. The mandrel will keep everything centred. Clamp it up and Bob's yer uncle. When dry remove the KDPS sleeve, and ream the capped foregrip slightly to accomodate the winding check. Re: Boring EVA?

Regular spade bit from the hardware store Tom. What you are thinking of is the reverse bit for enlarging holes in longer grips. I'd go with the Dremel/ sanding drum. Start with the smallest one, to open it out a bit, then use the bigger drum. Also, use the medium grit one as it tears up the EVA a lot less than the coarse. If you can it definitely helps to mark out the circle as accurately as you can with something like a paint pen of china pencil before you start cutting. Re: Boring EVA?
