Does anybody manufacture the 2 piece casting reel seats that we are seeing on high-end rods recently? I am new to rodbuilding and to this site. I know there is a previous post about this but it didn't really answer this question. Swampland rods says they will have some soon but their website in un-available. I really like the 2 piece casting reel seats and have built 2 rods so far, making my own 2 piece seats. There is a lot time involved in shaping and polishing the rear part of the 2 piece seat once you cut it and I would like to reduce that prep time as much as possible. I would appreciate any advice that you all may have.
Thank you, Steve Chontos Re: Who makes the 2 piece casting reel seats?

Lance Dupree at Swampland Rod will be carrying the 2 piece seats that are on the Airrus rods and is waiting on them now! I saw them in High Point and they are SWEET!!! Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Who makes the 2 piece casting reel seats?

We have a few 12.5s left and the rest are supposed to be in stock within a couple of weeks. If your blanks is larger the rear piece is easily bored or reamed. The front piece is one size fits all.

Thanks for the input so far. The rear section of the reel seats need to be size specific to obtain the right look. The front can be "one size fits all" as mentioned in this post earlier.
I got hooked into rodbuilding after I went to the Bassmaster Classic and seen the Airrus rods there for sale. After looking at them and the Daiwa Steez rods and now the Shimano Cumara rods, I really liked the 2 piece reel seats. I met a local guy who took the time (12 hours) to teach my son and I rodbuilding and repair techniques. I am hooked! I am a Machinist by trade so I already enjoyed making things myself. I really don't mind making the 2 piece seats but would buy them once I get the chance. Thank you, Steve Chontos Re: Who makes the 2 piece casting reel seats?

On the same day as the Classic, a line of Puls R Rods by AIRRUS, provided by Castaway, both casting and spinning was on display and sale, in the Swampland Booth, at the ICRBE in High Point. The unique features of these rods built on a spiral wound one piece blank with no additional rear grip or seat featured the two piece seat refered to in the above posts. These were the rods listed in the Show Brochure as the Winner of the Best of Show at ICAST in Las Vegas.
Many custom builders took the opportunity to carefully look at the method of attachment of this unique uniblank and seat assembly. The two piece seat will provide the lightest and most sensitive build for many task specific applications. An order was placed with Castaway and the seats be arriving soon in sizes of the spinning and casting triggers from 10.0 - 14.0. When they arrive a post will be made on this board. Connect to the following link and click on the Puls R picture to take a close look at the two piece seats - consider ordering some now for you next build. [www.rodsbyairrus.com] Seats are NOT available from Castaway and are exclusive to Swamplandrods@msn.com Web site will be up on this board soon soon! Edited 3 time(s). Thanks Bill, those same rods were on display at the Classic too. I never heard of them before but came really really close to buying 1 then. They also had the Ultra series of rods too, they were all beautiful. Looks like I'll be making an order with Swampland soon, keep us posted on the reel seats and website.
