John go to the nearest sewing store and look at the needle point and cross stitch books.
Also dont forget some of the sponsors on the left sell patterns and they support the site. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/28/2008 04:33PM by James(Doc) Labanowski. Re: Alphabet Weave Patterns

What I heve done in the past if I want a larger letter. While I am using. A thread I add an extra thread to to each of the 7 an add an extra wrap this well double the size. So for example you have 7 threads, now you have 14 threads, now tie each of the 2 togather an count them as one. You can also take any block letter and redeign the pattern. All it takes is pratice.

I like to use Microsoft Paint software in conjunction with Microsoft Excel. Most of my letters are of fonts I like to use from microsoft excel - size 12 (or whatever size you prefer). When you've found what you like copy and paste it onto microsoft Paint. Zoom in to about 600% and then select "show grid" (both of which are found under View heading). If, when the grid is displayed, there are too many grids (and thus threads in the pattern) to your liking - select the "stretch/skew" under the Image heading. Here you will want to play around with the "stretch" attributes by equally reducing BOTH the "Horizontal" and "Vertical" sizes, expressed in percentages, until the grid (and thread count) is more to your liking. You may then plot out your final results on graph paper for a pattern to follow. Incidentally, this feature can also be used with .gif and .jpg pics to utilize a picture or sketch for a weave pattern you may find while surfing the internet - or elsewhere.
