Curious how durable TiCh coated wire guides are for fly lines or braided lines. Anyone have them peel in long term usage?
Thanks, Mo Re: How durable are TiCh coating on wire guides?

I put some of the Tich coated ones from Janns on a couple spinners a while back - not really used heavily, but in the salt water. I really like them, but think I am already seeing some corrosion between the wires. I really need to get a magnifier and take a look to see for sure. -Steve Tampa, FL Re: How durable are TiCh coating on wire guides?

Mo,
In Batson's Catalog they list the PVD TiCh plating as being twice as hard as the substrate material, but it is probably safe to assume that the plating would eventually wear off. I would take the chance on at least one set because in my opinion they are about the nicest looking of any of the wire frame fly guides out there. Bright Gray is how they describe the color. They also make a TiCh fly guide using 3316 stainless steel that has a lower carbon content which makes them more corrosion resistant. Besides they come in a 2/0 size for us guys that that think smaller is better! Good Luck, Lynn Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
