I'm looking into building an inexpensive flyrod for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass and like the CCS Data for the TFO Professional Series Blanks. Only Problem is these blanks appear to come with a logo already printed on them. I much prefer to use Decals with the colors and fonts of MY choice. Are these pre-installed logos EASILY removable (are they painted on or are they decals), or am I looking at an intense effort to remove these - without dammaging the blank?

Just removed some decals from a trolling blank that I have to repair and it was easy. I just used a heat gun and softened the finish and then used my thumb nail and gently scraped the decal off. I started by getting a piece lifted and then gently pulled the rest off with the heat gun blowing on the blank. Do not get to close to the blank with the heat though, just enough to keep the decal and any finish soft enough to come off the blank. After I had all of the adjacent finish and decal safely removed from the blank I used a scotch pad and cleaned any remaining debris from the blank and it is now ready for refinish with either wrapping or epoxie. Bob,
Thanks for the reply. Just found out the inscription is painted on, so I'll have to scuff it out. Depending on where the front of my grip ends and, ultimately the location of my weave, I will probably end up covering it up anyway. Torin Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
