Sic Stripping guides are they still the best?

So, I'm a little confused . I thought that SIC stripping guides were the best guides out there for use on a flyrod. Now I see were TiCh are claimed to be the best. So, is this accurate or just a marketing ploy?

SIC is a ring material and I think that TICH is a frame material

I don't think there is exactly a "best" for stripping guides. SiC is very good. So is cerment. I think the guide size, shape, and frame material (weight) have more effect than the ring material on overall feel and appeal.

SiC is a ring material (silicon carbide), whereas TiCH (titanium carbon, hydrogenase sumthingy: don't quote me on that one) is a PVD deposition "plating" applied to guide frames and zirconia rings. There are a few finishes available in PVD deposited zirconia: silver, gold, blue, holographic. They are all about the same hardness, which I believe is only slightly less than SiC.
