Rob,
Pac Bay used to use that PRF for their professional line of blanks, but their latest catalog no longer shows those balnks being made. I believe the PRF series was a gloss balck in color..

Thanks guy's
I too believe it is an 8wt but I was trying to be sure, problem is I don't have a use for a rod this heavy, normaly I use a 7wt for bass and such, I may have a friend I can build it for though.
thanks again.

Mike had it right. At one time the Professional series Pac Bays and Rainshadows were made at the All Star factory. Haven't used any of the Pac Bay Pro fly blanks, but have made quite a few steelhead/salmon rods on the blanks. Got quite a few left overs from Andy Dear quite a while ago mixed in with the All Stars he was selling as closeouts.

You can get a good idea of the weight by measuring it using the Common Cents System method.

Thanks for all the info, one question though for Stan and maybe I am just not thinking too good at the moment but what is the Common Cents System?
Thanks again, Rob
