Sorry, I have a clemens lathe with a 4 spool carriage. Oops, just went to the lathe to measure the spool holder on the carriage and figured it out. I have to loosen the rods holding the spool and move them to accept the madeira. Duh...

Thanks

Tom

Steve,

I have a Pac Bay wrapper also, and Madeira thread does not fit on the carriage. It is the R3 W-XL wrapper. My carriage has two horizontal holders, and they are not long enough to allow the spool to fit on and still use the spring.

I took my carriage to the show over the weekend and explained the problem to the Pac Bay rep. They did not have a solution.

I got some advice was from fellow builder to use the wrapper to respool the thread onto a thread spool that would fit. Haven't tried that yet.

Another solution offered was to buy a custom carriage fabricated by Scott Parsons.

What Pac Bay carriage do you have?

Thanks in advance
Bert Nagy

Maybe I have a have a diferent size spools then you. What I have are 2-1/4" long by about 3/4". Same size as the sulky spools. use them all the time with no problem.
