Diamondite & Bubbles Problem

I have great success with Diamondite on guide wraps. I usually wrap a 3" section of thread and trim with metallic, coat with finish, apply my rod decal, and final coat. On this longer section, I have been getting a lot of bubbles in my Diamondite.
I have used various CP's, but still get the little bubbles on the longer wrapped section. Any ideas? With Diamondite CP, do you guys still use multiple coats of CP? Thanks, Marc Re: Diamondite & Bubbles Problem

It must be REALLY cold where you are working. I very rarely even use CP and I do butt wraps that are several inches long, no problems. Something isn't right ...
My only suggestion would be to heat the "Base Component" in the microwave for 10 seconds before mixing. Blend for 30 seconds. Let mature for 4 minutes and then apply to the long section. Do NOT apply heat or flowing air for at least one hour ... after one hour, cure faster if you like. Re: Diamondite & Bubbles Problem

Good guess Jim - I'm in north Wisconsin - it's only 9 below zero today without the wind chill!!! One of our warmer days lately. I'll put a little heat on the Base and give it a try.
Thanks, Marc Re: Diamondite & Bubbles Problem

I routinely do long areas with it and have had no bubble problems. I do pretty much the same as Jim except after applying I do a quick pass with a heat gun (3 rpm dryer). Habit, I guess. Haven't done it without and probably isn't necessary. Jim's been using it a LOT longer than me. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Diamondite & Bubbles Problem
