The opening of the International Custom Rodbuilding Exposition is now seven days away. Swamplands' product selection for this years event will contribute to the yearly "Shock and Awe Effect" that awaits all custom rod builders when the doors open.
Sorry, but this year Swampland will NOT have: Rod Racks, Rodmaker Show Plaques, Reamers, Grit Stix, Cajun Jerky, NASCAR Doo Rags, Small Tools, or Custom Fountain Pens. And finally, there will be absolutely no "Flocking Around"! Swampland will have THREE MAJOR classes of items that have NEVER appeared at any rodbuilding event ANYWHERE. These items will be offered to custom rodbuilders for the VERY FIRST TIME and will be exclusive to Swampland. There has been great interest in recent innovations in grip materials for fishing rods. The innovative foam core, introduced in Rodmaker, has done much to provide a viable replacement for cork. Swampland will display fishing rods that have highly unique "No Added Grip" rods which will create a high level of interest from the general fishermen who attend the show. Custom builders will find these rods quite interesting to say the least! Ask to see a demo of the proto type of the "blank of the future" that may ultimately be the answer to the warranty issues that face the industry today due to high sticking and missuse of fishing rods by anglers. For those of you that have been following the adventures of Clyde de Gator he is presently located just south of Dunn, NC and will be prepared to function as the cashier dealing with "bucks" in the booth. [www.rodbuilding.org] For those of you driving to the show, please be CAREFUL and DRIVE SAFELY - we look forward to seeing old friends, builders in attendance for the first time and general interest fishermen. Mr. Kirkman refused to allow the Jerky back in the State of North Carolina without us paying a luxury tax. Evidently he spent all his profits from last years show by hoarding the stuff! We intend to bring him a personal supply on a no charge basis. If you can talk him out of a couple of packages do not give him one red cent! And by all means, do not ask for a chair to sit while you chew the elixir - he may try to backcharge your for the chair! Re: ICRBE - Seven Days & Counting - Swampland

Looks like Cyde de coward took a detour south of the NC mountains on his journey from Shelbyville, to Dunn, NC. Previously gators have been captured by the Wildlife Commision and transported to the coast. Dunn might be close enough to avoid deportation! High Point is a different question. Let us hope Greg Jenkins comes back to the show but Clyde might land headed for the coast! It is a long swim from Wilmington to Lousiana!
