cp over permagloss?

I have several rods under my belt, but was trying some new things and wanted to make sure that things would still work out. I have wrapped an underwrap with metallic thread, applied cp, and applied 3 coats permagloss. So, for the overwrap, is it OK to apply the CP over the top of the permagloss that has been applied to the underwrap? And yes, I will permagloss over the overwrap. Just wanted to make sure before tackling the next step. Thanks in advance.

Once the Permagloss is on, the CP will have no further effect on the thread. Omit that application completely: it's unnecessary.

Drew, For the over wrap the CP will be fine. With metallic thread there is no need to use CP, it does however make it a little easier to remove the wrap it has to come off on the future.

I would also add that the permagloss is also unnecessary for a totally metallic underwrap. The permagloss will leave a haze on top of the finish if you apply it. But, that too is not necessary.

Hi Drew,

To answer the question you asked yes you can apply CP to the overwrap without any problem and once it dries apply the permagloss. You really did not need to cp your underwrap as you used metallic thread, but no harm was done.

I think I might've CP'd the underwrap, wrapped the overwrap, CP'd the overwrap, then Permaglossed the whole thing.
