Lou, there is no such thing as a non-member. Everyone's a NERB at heart. There's no fees or dues or anything like that, just a bunch of guys who enjoy buiilding the best rods we can. Artistically, and functionally (even though some believe the 2 cannot coexist)

I lived in Bay Shore (a bordering town) for a year, before I discovered this site. Its on the south shore about 30 miles east of the eastern edge of the Queens city limits.

Unfortunately, I'm heading to BNL on LI for the next two weeks, which means that I will be coming back home before you guys meet.

Joe - Enjoy your 2 weeks up here. I do not knwo where you are coming from, but you might want to dress warm. It's been off and on cold the past few weeks. RIght now it's not so bad, a few days ago it was bitter, at best.

Do any of you guys have a shop out near BNL (Shirley)? I would love to visit and see some of your work.

Joe, the only person I know who lives near that area with a shop, is my good friend Captain Neil Faulkner. He has been posting here a little bit over the last wek or 2, and he does have a website. He build a nice rod, but he is not into teh all teh insane intricate stuff some of the NERBs are into. But he is 100% NERB and a great guy.

Not that you asked, but I am in Staten Island, which is abotu 1:45 from where you will be, depending on when you drive.
