Clyde de Gator just called in on his cell and told us he made good time this week. After he left de bayou, he decided to use the Tombigbe Waterway up through Alabama and Tennessee on his way to High Point. His GPS transmitter locates him at:

[corpslakes.usace.army.mil]

He should be in your area sometime on Monday. We sure would appreciate it if you would consider keeping the "Tennessee Cash Crop" locked safely in the closet and throw a couple of "chikins with feathers" in the Duck behind the shop. Don't get too close because he will be real hungry. He likes cash just like you! We will pay you cash for the gator food and show you later this weekend what Clyde does with "bucks". Just you wait till you see his trick!

Thanks and see you soon at the Big Show!

Fred -- You nailed it!! Bill is a "Triple-Dog" of a mess. Mr. Bill as I call him, either calls in orders or e-mails me regularly. Many a day, his humor lifts me up and makes for a brighter day. You never know what to expect out of that dude. He is the prime example of what I am very fortunate to have. A very good customer, that is one that I can truly call a ''Best Of Friend". The relationships that I share with my customers, is something that money can't buy, even though as Bill says, I do like that cash. We'll be on the watch for Ole Clyde and take good care of him along his travels.

I think it might be the Louisiana water. I just spent a week in Disney, Florida; and as it turns out, about 1/2 the state of Lousiana was there trying to avoid the influx of out of towners visiting the state for mardi-gras. I must say these are very wonderful people, and many are just as crazy as Bill Stevens sounds. Disney will never be the same, and neither will I. Fantastic people to party with, and they know a bit about fishing as well!! See you at the show.

Some of the friendliest people live in Louisiana. In 1962 I was being shipped overseas and drove from Columbus, Georgia to West Texas. I was on I20 going through Minden, La. It had been raining from the time I left Georgia and at Minden my car slid of off the road into a deep ditch. Within 10 minutes there was a crowd of people there trying to help me. A fellow came by with a long chain and pulled me out. I offered to pay him but he wouldn't take any money. I told him I was a serviceman going home to see my parents before going overseas. He gave me a big hug and everybody in the crowd wished me well. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I thinik about how nice they were.
