I just received my order of Diamondite, and I am looking forward to using it. I did notice one thing, and wanted to poll other rodbuilders.
I see that it states cleanup with acetone. Has anyone used alcohol for cleanup? I'm not one for using acetone, but will if I need to. Thanks. Re: Diamondite cleanup

I use alcohol with it and it works just fine. Mark Griffin [] C&M Custom Tackle San Dimas, California Re: Diamondite cleanup

I use alcohol too - no problem. Look up some of the threads on Diamondite, Jim Gamble has some excellent tips that will shorten your learning curve.
Have fun, Marc Re: Diamondite cleanup

I don't like taking chances with chemicals. Mix it and apply it, throw the stuff away. I use wood sticks to mix the epoxy in plastic cups. If I use a brush, I throw it away. They are really cheap at Michaels. No chance of mixing chemicals together to cause a problem, such as a non-curing disaster..........Been there......Done that!!!.
If I need to clean something and wiping it off with a rag doesn't clean it, then it goes in the trash....Done! You can re-use the cups after the epoxy dries, till they are full. The sticks wipe clean easily. Brushes get tossed after one use. I used Diamondite recently. Went on easy and no clean up, threw the stuff (brush and wiping rag) away after I applied the finish. Chris, you are doing feather inlays and nice work, don't take a chance on ruining your work by trying to save a penny, it isn't worth it! Terry Re: Diamondite cleanup

Thanks, everyone!
Terry, I completely agree with you on everything you said. I was actually asking in case I need to do a clean up on the rod itself. Like a guide, or on the cork. I appreciate all your comments! Chris Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
