steven kincaid from reelseatblanks sent me some samples of turning blanks he has to try. these are stabilized 1.5" turning squares he has them in 6" and 12" lengths.. he sent me some fiddleback maple, crotch cherry , and spalted black ash burl. this wood is fantastic with very great grains and figure. my mind is spinning as i try to think of projects to use these for. i will try to have something with them for the show for those attending to see(i had an injury and it has set me back a bit). i suggest if you have any projects where wood is involved you should give these guys a chance.

I would have to echo Johns sentiment. I have received some wood from Steve as well. The wood has very nice grain, color and is stabilized all the way through. They also have a very good selection of unstabilized wood at a great price. You can't ask for a better person to deal with. I too have bought from them in the past and have been more than pleased... i've also received "samples" of other woods in some orders which was a very nice surprise. Was a VERY pleasant person to deal with.

I just rec'd some 1 1/2" pieces of stabilized and was pretty much blown away! I will turn them round this week and post pics

Tim: We are in the process of updating our website to include the larger pieces. We will be adding a "Group 4" and "Group 5", one for stabilzed wood, one for unstabilized. Can you comment on the suitability of your stabilized wood for use in salt water reel seats and handle accents?

Matt: We use 2 different stabilizing companies and they are both excellent. The process they use to stabilize our wood makes it resistant to temperature changes, humidty extremes, U.V. light, saltwater and many oils and solvents. It's probably the best protection you can give to a chunk of wood that will be used out in the elements. Cripe, I sound like a commercial! So be it. Give our sticks a shot when you have a need, you won't be disappointed. We unconditionally gaurantee everything we sell. Thanks for the question, I hope this helps.
