Does anyone know how they make these handle? It appears to be poured polyurethane foam but they are colored black and have a textured surface. Is the polyurethane colored and the texture added with the pour or is the black color and texture material painted on after the pour ? Thanks Sam

As far as I know it's cork painted with a textured paint. Don't hold me to this - I'm going by what it looks like.

It looks like the same material as the little gray arbors? Wrapped with thread. A graphite foam?

It would be some type of plastic foam, there really isn't any such thing as a graphite foam.

It looks and feels just like the Fuji Graphite Arbors.

Fuji's "graphite" arbors don't contain any carbon or graphite - they're a type of plastic foam.

They look just like the urethane grips showcased in Rodmaker Magazie. It seems to be pretty dense and looks like a black colorant had been added.

Within 30 miles of Kistler - maybe! - we will not know until someone asks!

That's not what they're using, nor is it urethane. I cut one off and had a local plastics manufacturer look at it. It is a type of plastic (not nylon) and is indeed similar to the Fuji and Pac Bay type brick foam, but there is neither graphite nor urethane in it.

I just hope I didn't ruin my rod. I just took a little chunk out of the butt grip.
