Urethane foam

Isn't foam that you guys are using in the grips from the latest RMM very similar to the urethane foam used in sign shops? I used to work in a sign shop and we carved urethane foam that came in 4'X8' panels. The stuff is I think 18 lb or 24 lb density. I thought that using something like that might help with pouring problems as there is no mixing. All you'd have to do is rip it on a table saw into strips and then turn it on a lathe. This stuff sands easy and after a little spoy putty and primer you can size and gold leaf on it. Anyway it's just a thought.

Ash; that is the stuff but a lighter density, the main problem in buying sheets like that is the cost.
I looked in to it and the prices quoted me were outrageous compared to pouring my own

Hey Guys,
I made a post several days ago regarding the foam blocks. We are supplying 1.5" square blocks in the 4,6 and 8lb density. Contact any of the suppliers on our website for pricing and details. 18lb density is MUCH to heavy...probably heavier than EVA.

What Andy is selling is already ripped and cut to length, so you don't end up buying a large quantitiy that you'd never get around to using, not to mention what it costs to ship large sheets of the stuff.
