Hi guys,
I need some help on a concept rod. I'm trying to get from a #30 guide to a #6 with the use of two more guides. Would a #20 and then a #12 work or a #20 then a #10. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for the help. Terry Re: Concept help

Either will work to some extent, but you need to plot the straight line path between them and then that path will tell you what guides to use.I really don't know how you're trying to go about this - the line path will spell out the guides needed.

Tom,
I was just trying to see if the 12 would make the jump to the six or the 10. You're right the line path will spell it out. Thanks Terry Re: Concept help

Tom,
While were on this topic I just read your newer primer on the system and will trying it on my next drop shot rod. One question though, how did you arrive at 27 for the multiplyer? Just curious. Thanks Re: Concept help

If you do a search you'll find that information in a previous post. It took several years and setting up over a hundred rods and reels with the NGC to arrive at an average that seemed to be just about on the money in nearly all instances. There will be that small handful that fall outside the boundaries for one reason or another, but in most cases, if you'll use that factor of 27 you'll find it to put you just about right every time.
