After using a tapered reamer to ream an ultrafine grip I find the back part of the grip too loose for the blank. Should I shim with masking tape? Is this the preferred solution? Will it be solid enough once this is done? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks Re: reaming grip

Masking tape works fine. If it isn't too big a gap, you can build it up with thread. Re: reaming grip

Dry wall tape can be another alternative as it is a fiberous screen material and has a self adheasive. It comes in varing widths and also makes a great filler for bushings etc. The glue fills inbetween the open holes in the screen and makes a good glue bond to the mating parts. Just another option.
