hey i just receieved the volume 10 issue 2 magazine off a very kind jack richardson and i have a few questions.
Firstly, i would like to do one of these wraps on my new rod i am buildinf myself in the next few months and my mate would also like one on his rod. but my first question is can you use a light color on the overwrap?? my rod wil be binded with the very bright green madeira thread and since the overwrap is the main color i would like to use that as the overwrap or is this just not possible. or would i use it as one of the underbinds? would it still show through?? my second question is what color shoudl i use if i want i to match my guide wraps which will be the very bright green madeira thread? underwraps and overwraps?? thanks in advance Tom Re: Tiger Wrap/3D Holo Wrap Question

Per the article instructions, the top wrap typically determines the overall color cast of the overall wrap. So if you want to match your guide wraps, use the same color on the tiger overwrap that you do for your guide wraps.
You can use a lighter thread for the overwrap, but you'd want to do a couple test wraps just so you know what you'll get. .................... Re: Tiger Wrap/3D Holo Wrap Question

If your choice for the top wrap is a light color be cautious when a Metallic is used for the top gap producing layer. The reflectivness of the metallic on top tends to diminish the effect of the underlying threads. Light colors are fine for me but I use dull colors on top like gold NCP to get the full effect of the bottom colors. I think somehow the eye can see through the dull top better.
