Hi. I'm in train to re-built a medium-heavy spinning rod (8", 1-2 oz casting weight), and I need to coat with the butt wrap some inscriptions made to the manufacturer under the first coat of finish. It extends for about 19 inch from the handle. For me there is no probloem to make a long butt wrap, but the only preoccupation that I have is which type of finish I put on. Normally I use ls supreme hi-build, but I'm worried on the possibility that cracks can appear on the long finish section in winter use. I'm consider if it is best the use permagloss to finish all the wraps to avoid this problem. What do you think? Is there this type of problem possible or not?

Don't worry about the LS cracking. I'd be more worried about getting an even coat with the permagloss. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
