I'm considering building a few rods that will be used for ice fishing Lake Trout. Anyone have blank recommendations?
Thank you, Sam Re: Ice fishing rod blanks for Lake Trout?

I asked this question a couple of weeks ago, the response I recieved was to use a cut down Batson .385"x.105"x72" Solid Glass Saltwater Blank.

I take cheap graphite "soft" water blanks and cut out the section that is going to suit my needs. Mudhole has some cheap blanks that work well.
I don't fish terribly heavy or terribly deep. Rarely over 1 ounce and 100'. Cleo spoons, airplane jigs, bucktails... And for finesse fishing 3/8 ounce jigs with white tubes. So I typically have a couple of different rods rigged. ............................ Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
