I am thinking of building a 7’ lamiglas IMC845 or CC84H bass casting rod rated for 12-25 lb. line with recoils. My question is should I use The RSG 2 foot guides for the whole rod or can I use two RSG stripper guides size 10 and 8 and then use the RSPG single foot guides size 7 for the running guides? Has anyone ells used recoils on such a rod and what was the setup? I'd rather be catching! Re: Casting rod with recoils guides

Eddie do you have all on them laying in front of you? I had exactly the same problem a few months ago. The IMC brute seemed to overwhelm the single foot guides made by Recoil and I decided to head in another direction. That specific blank is really not a touchy feely type of blank. The bassers I have desire anything built on that blank to be able to withstand a little more punishment. If you go to single foot fly guides on the 845 be sure to consider the spacing very carefully if you build with guides on top. If you go to the My Control Center at the top of this page and Unhide your email address we can communicate off board if you desire.

RECoil guides might have some usefulness in weight reduction, but it definitely stops there IMO. That blank is a beast, so why not save yourself a lot of heartache and expense, stick with Fuji Alconite guides and be done with it. Re: Casting rod with recoils guides
