I have not found where anyone put this up, so I thought I would post it::
I went into Harbor Freight and found 50 yard long, 1" wide cloth, abrasive rolls. They had rolls of 80 grit, 120 grit, and 240 grit. I usually cut my sandpaper into 1" to 1.5" strips, so this should be perfect. They were $5.99 each. Honestly don't remember if this was a sale price. Just bought them today. I have seen similar 1", cloth aluminum oxide rolls on a website, for $22.00-$26.00 each! 80 grit item # 02118. Re: Cloth Abrasive Roll

Thanks Chris,
However, I wonder about the durability for something like a reamer. I have a Harbor Freight across the street. Guess I will take a gander. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Cloth Abrasive Roll

Lifetime supply of sandpaper cna be found for much cheaper - get a belt sander belt for $2, the coated ones. I've used the same strip of 40 grit for cork, EVA, and Hypalon up to 3700 RPM's for the past 2 years. By strip I mean same 6" piece I just picked up 80-180 grit, I just have to be careful as it sand MUCH quicker than regular paper sandpaper. Re: Cloth Abrasive Roll

Chris from what I have observed using various brands of abrasive rolls is there can be a significant difference in the backing material which can make a big difference in use

Billy, I have a couple of sanding belts that I've been using, too, but when I saw these rolls . . . . . . I just needed them! It's an addiction! I went into Harbor Freight to buy a round file, and left with 3 rolls of abrasive cloth, a flush cut rapid pull saw ($5.00), 2 packs of cheap paint brushes, an 18 piece hole saw set ($5.00), 2 scissors, and 2 tape measures! Oh yeah, and the round file.
John, I agree with you on the differences. I looked at this stuff, twisted, pulled and bent it, and it seems to be sturdy. And I will find out how well it works this week. If for some reason, it doesn't work, I will have neat strips I can nail down to my steps, to keep me from slipping! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
