I have a problem with the gold finish on a Fuji Reel seat coming off and would like to see if any of you have experienced the same thing or know a fix.
Last night I taped off the reel seat on a rod I was working on (I wanted to turn the foregrip down a little bit more) when I removed the tape the gold finish pulled off a small spot on one of the hoods. I really don't want to remove the seat and start over because I've already got about 6 hours tied up in the rod. I've never had this happen before and I'm curious if any of you have; I'm also searching for a fix. Any ideas?? Thanks, Walt Davenport "Roadhouse Rods" Re: Fuji Finish problem

at this point the only options I see out side of removing the handle would be to finish pealing of the finish.
if the sub surface looks good enough leave it loike that, if not paint it. But I would suggest painting it black instead of gold. Gold paint always looks cheap to me. If you paint, make sure you prep the surface. Re: Fuji Finish problem

You might consider painting it with using the marbling effect. That's one way of turning lemons into lemonade.
