Darby,
If 'distance' is the key for you, I'd go with original Trilene XL. It's hard to beat for shear casting distance. It one of limpest (is that a word?) of all the monos out there. That's one of the most important properties for casting distance. It's also strong and has good knot strength. It handles well, too, something that can't be said for all monofilaments. It is a bit stretchy, but that can be good or bad depending on application. Good Luck! Buddy Sanders Re: Off subject: Line for Spining Reel

A lot of my bass fishing buddies use Trilene Big Game in 15 to 25 lb test when pitching jigs and worming, they love it, and it is one of the lower priced lines. Re: Off subject: Line for Spining Reel

Thanks for all the input. I have several options now and know something about the lines that are out there.
Thanks again darby Re: Off subject: Line for Spining Reel

Here is a tip that I got from Bill Dance that may help with spinning reel 'wind' knots. Always close the bail by hand after the cast and give the line a quick tug as you start cranking. This may sound awkward but after a little practice it becomes second nature. This has helped me with my wind knot problems. Re: Off subject: Line for Spining Reel

Good tip Dave! I read that on a fishing forum years ago and started doing that while casting cranks at night. Doing those two minor things has almost totally eliminated any line related problems. After a while it comes second nature. Re: Off subject: Line for Spining Reel
