I am building a mid 1980's G.Loomis IM6 Spinning Rod, using the New Guide Concept placement. The blank is a root beer color in the light or wine color. Also, I'm using Fugi Gold Cermet guides and SIC Titanium high frames. I need some help with choosing thread colors.

I own three of those rods. One is done in brown with gold trim, one with red and gold trim, and the other in lavender with silver trim. Oops, I have four; the last one is done in sunburst with gold trim. Like Fred says use what looks good to you. Just about warm color will work. On the cool side, a dark green with gold trim will look good.

You can never go wrong with Black over Metallic Gold. Jesse

Did one in dark brown with bronze metallic trim, I really liked the look.
