Fuji ACS reel seat

Hi guys, long time reader but have only posted a couple of times. I find the anwsers to most of my questions by doing a search. Now for my question, have any of you used the Fuji ACS reel seat yet. I just got one to try, it has narrow fins or ridges running though it, doesn't look like much contact area for glueing it to the blank. I would like to know if I need to do anything different when glueing it up. I use Rod Bond and it's going on a Lamiglas XMG 50 LMB 843 that I'm building to fish jigs with for bass fishing. Thanks.

Herb, the ribs help keep the reel seat in place not so much as contact area. There is a lot of area between the ribs for the rod bond to stick to, just run a scotch pad through it a couple times to rough up the inside surface, and your good to go.

Thanks Tim, so what your saying is to use extra rod bond so that it fills the gaps between the ribs?

The ribs allow epoxy to settle in there which it nearly impossible for it to ever spin on you. And that's the main concern with most reel seats. Making sure they don't spin. Then can't really come off with grips fore and aft. But many poorly bonded seats will loosen and spin. The ACS isn't prone to do that as far as I'm concerned.

I pack the nose of the ACS seat with epoxy after its mounted. Since the blank is tapered there is always going to be a gap at the top of the reel seat.
