Hi guys
Has anyone got a recommendation for a 7'6" (or thereabouts) ultra light (4-8lb line) blank with a fast action? I have looked through the St Croix and Loomis catalogues and can't seem to find what I am after. Thanks Chris Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank

Rogue K762 at Bingham Ent. I also think I saw a few at Angler's Workshop. X Fast action blanks.
Developed for kokanee fishing, they are a very soft mouthed fish so the blanks are built accordingly. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/25/2007 11:58PM by Spencer Phipps. Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank

You can get what you want, even if it's not available commercially.
Pick a 5'5" or 6' UL blank with a fast action and extend it from the butt. This will give you what you want and might just turn out to be the very best UL rod you'll ever fish. ................ Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank

Chris, look at the fly rod blanks. I have built on the St Croix SCIII series, 7'6" 2 wt for crappies, perch etc I use 4# test on this. I would think that any company would have a 2 piece fly blank in the 2-3-4-5 wt blank that would work well. Soft tip action and very light weight great for ultra lite fishing. Brands I would look at would be Forecast, Rainshadow, St Croix, Pac Bay, only to name a few. Reasonable priced. All depends on what color of blank you want. Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank

My vote would be for the Rainshadow SP781-2. This is a 6'-6" blank that I have extended to 7' and it is an absolute delight to fish with. It may be a little more moderate action than you asked for, but to me, that adds to the enjoyment. Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank

What are you using this rod for? HS9000 is as fast as it gets! Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank

Karry
I am using it for micro jigging (soft plastic) and light flats fishing for species like whiting, flathead and bream (Australian estuary fish - the big ones pull hard but generally, the fight is middle of the road). What is this HS9000 you speak of? Cheers Chris Re: 7'6" Ultra Light fast Action Blank
