Could trimar thread be used the same way that the variagated thread is for the tiger wrap? I know...I know...try it out and see for your self! I was just curious if anyone has tried it yet.

Yes. It will provide you with a bit of a 3rd color when used on the bottom layer.

Hi Hal

I have done a lot of experimenting with it and the only way I am displeased with it is when using another metallic with it. I prefer to use an NCP contrast thread and NO CP(I know all you Doc followers are in shock) but in this case it works better. Short answer is a big YES and have fun with it.

Doc,
Shocked? No, not really. Ya probably ran out of CP and got impatient! lol
seriously, you've taught this old dog a few tricks, no reason to think you
wouldn't try a few yourself.

I've done two, using 245s trimar over black/white and 245g over black/white. Sighting down the rod, you see the metallic in the trimar taking over. Haven't tried it underneath - yet !

I've played with it and it does work, especially if you match the thread size. I don't care for it much, only because I work with mainly small diameter blanks and anything larger than A is too coarse for my liking. On a fat rod, it would probably be pretty cool.

I did the base wrap last night with brown/silver with lemon yellow. Just this combo. looks pretty neat. I am thinking of a black overwrap. I will let you know how it turns out.
