I stripped the finish off of a blank and sanded the whole blank with six hundred grit sandpaper. I was wondering do i have to put a finish on the blank or can i leave it bare. It kinda looks like the IMX, glx Loomis Blanks. Are the loomis blanks bare graphite? Thanks Re: finish on blanks

Do a search on 'finishes' or 'painting' for some ideas. In the future you must leave a valid email address or your post will be removed as per the rules outlined above. No big deal this time. Thanks. Re: finish on blanks

I recomemd you email Ralph O'quin. You can not sand graphit Rods they well colaps under pressure. If you have to remove foriegn matter or deglase a rod use a Scotch Brite scuff pad (gray color) Re: finish on blanks

Riding on the back of this question, what can you do to prep factory sanded rods that you are going to finish? The factory sanding has uneven textures and the color is inconsistent. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
