Pink Live Bait Blanks

Back a few months ago I built up one of Mudhole's pink E-Glass rods (15-25) for a gag. The guys wife has become very attached to the rod - she is always wearing pink head to toe. Anyhow, when I built the rod I noticed a curly q in the end and that the blank was out of round.

Well, a top shot was being put on the rod over the weekend for a upcoming live bait trip and the tip snapped off under a light load. Anyhow, the owner is looking for a replacement. I know I can get any American made Lamiglas blank painted pink, but I'm looking for an E-glass blank. I've built a rod based on one of Swamplands blanks, but that rod is hardly suitable for Albacore (Steelhead yep, but not an Albi).

Anyhow does anyone know of a source for a blank simular in specs to the Calstar 870 that is Pink? Or will Calstar paint a blank Pink on a special order?

Thought I'd check here, before I called around.

Thanks again guys

I don't believe Calstar paints blanks, but it is not that hard to paint it yourself. If you do a search here for "painting blanks" or just "paint" you'll get a ton of info

Ted,
I'd give Lamiglas a call and see what they have, they make something for just about everything. Maybe something like the I670 Sardina blank may be appropriate. They do a beautiful job on their custom colors.

I just ordered a g1000 blank in Pink. Problem is that Lamiglas will only paint American Made blanks - the Sardina and Big Fish E-Glass are International E-Glass so they cannot repaint them - or at least that is what Lamiglas told Anglers Workshop.

Look like were going to go with a Calstar 270 and just put some pink wraps on it to match the Pink Avet SX that he has for that rod. The Hot Pink that I have looks funny on a dark blank so I'll probably underwrap it in or some such or look into paining the blank. I just don't have any place at my house that I want to set up as a spay booth
