Greetings. I broke an old rod which was one of the first I built. It is a brown 4 piece 9 WT which was a Blem Blank from Anglers Workshop (about 10 years old). I believe it was a Lamiglass. The butt Section broke fighting a Salmon last year (I high sticked it...my fault). Any way, I would love to get a replacement piece to use the rod as a back up. It does not need to be a perfect match either. Can anyone help? I would be glad to offer what ever you feel is reasonable for the piece. Thanks Re: Need a piece of rod blank

Ross where did it break? It may be repairable. You could also possibly get a piece from Lamiglas to repair it. They are pretty reasonable. Rootbeer brown 10 years ago it could be a Certified Pro. A little earlier they had a lighter Chestnut brown IM700 blank. Angler's Workshop also had a dark Rootbeer brown line of fly blanks that were built for them by Talon. Angler's should be able to tell the difference. Re: Need a piece of rod blank

It broke in the butt Section. It was probably a $20 blank at the time. However, It has caught me tons of big fish over the years and for sentimental reasons, I would love to put it back in commision. Re: Need a piece of rod blank

As far as repairability, that's the best place for a break. You should be able to easily repair it like new. Check the library above Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Need a piece of rod blank

Just curious. How do you break a rod in the butt section by high sticking? Every rod that I have seen broken by high sticking has been near the tip. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
