The Tackle Tour website reports that "...this year, G.Loomis is introducing four models of extra long “Great Lakes†style center pin rods built from GLX blanks and REC Recoil guides. These rods will range from 11’3†to 15’ in length." Are the blanks available, and who is carrying them? Re: G Loomis GLX Float Rod Blanks

G Loomis has a history of not putting their new products in the blank catalog for some years after they build the factory rods, if at all. My bet would be the Canadians see them before we do if they ever come out. That's centerpin country. Re: G Loomis GLX Float Rod Blanks

I'd bet the Canadians don't see those blanks.....
I bet theres a good chance we wont either for a long time... I got to fish some of these rods the other day. The 15 footer is a great rod that is VERY light for its' length. However, it needs a little more backbone for most of the fish here in AK. The 13 footer is another great rod that is light, but again, this rod would be challenging to use on Steelhead, especially in big water-they will hand you your a_ _! LOL I have not tried the 11.5 footer, but I think this rod will have more backbone as it is rated to 12# line.
Overall, I think that there are better rods out there for the $$$, especially if the price tag is at $550.00. My .02 Paul Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
