Has anyone tried Pantyhose !!!

Although I know people that wear them deer hunting. I found another use for them. I cut off a section of one leg, folded it into about a 2 1/2" square and applied PG to a rod blank I was refinishing. I think it worked better than a coffee filter or a sponge. Just wondering if anyone has tried this.

Yes, have used long pieces of panty hose not to apply materials but to run through the guides. Any snags are caught by the panty hose material indicating a need for a closer look.

At Clarkson College in 1976 I signed up for hockey for PE credit and at the first class, to my shock, all the guys in the locker room were putting on panty hose under their hockey gear. I had long johns on, and was sweating awfull. I went home to Albany a couple days later for a long weekend, and on the way back up north, we stopped at Hoss's Country Store in Long Lake. They had a big pantyhose display, and I was standing there looking stupid when the nice lady at Hoss's came over and asked me if i needed help. I mumbled the word "pantyhose" and she rubbed her chin while eyeing me up and down, and politely asked, "What color would you like?" i mumbled something else, and she picked out 2 pairs, and said, "These are really nice!" and put them in my hands. At the counter, there were 4 or 5 local lumberjack type guys standing around chewing the fat. I walked and put down a six-pack, some SlimJims, a fishing magazine, 2 pairs of taupe pantyhose size XXL, and twenty bucks. Somewhere in the distance, a dog howled.
