I love to use Rod Bond, but have some tendonitis in my elbow. When it flares, mixing several batches of Rod Bond by hand isn't fun. Has anyone found a way to mix this stuff other than by hand?

**I have rigged an arm made of loc-line with a heavy aligator clip on my Pac Bay epoxy mixer. With it holding a craft stick it mixes Flex Coat 20 min liquid rod glue great!!

Any ideas much appreciated.

i use flex coats rod builders glue and that works fine and is easy to mix...you dont really have to worry about getting bubbles in it cause you dont see it anyway

Marc, for that reason you might want to look into Sumo glue. I think Bill Stevens has been using it on grips. I have some but haven't tried it yet.

I got a bottle at the local Joann Fabrics, not that I frequent fabric shops except for Sulky thread and other rod building goodies, sometimes get strange looks when in a fabric store full of women. Have tried it on a couple grips and it seems to do the job and has a fairly long working time, 10 minutes. It is a Lockite product.

The way I was taught to mix seam adhesive for solid surface materials(read also:2 part epoxy) is to put the measured amounts in a baggie and calmp it in the sandpaper clamp of a palm sander and let it run for a few minutes, the vibration will thoroughly mix the epoxy without wearing out your wrist.

Just put two gobs on a piece of cardboard, paper etc and FOLD in till it's the same color. No need to stir or mix. Quick and easy. It's Ralph O'Quinn's (formulator of Rod Bond) recomended procedure

Sumo can be found at Lowe's. Walmart, Kmart, Pamida, Do It Best, etc.

Mike is right though. I just use a piece of scrap cardboard & mash the two parts into each other with a popcicle stick until its a consistent color. It always cures fine for me.
