I like the color selection of this embroidery thread. Can you use this type of thread for rod building applications?

Rayon is a very weak thread, and if you apply CP, it gets very scratchy, meaning is has a lot of little hairs and they will stand up and turn hard, you would have to use a lot of finish to cover it up.

he isnt kidding about it being weak! i bought a spool to check out and it breaks really easy...returned it and got polyester

There's really no reason to chance the problems that Rayon thread can cause. If you want color, Madiera polyneon has about 350 brilliand colors (available from @#$%& and Mudhole on the left) There are numerous brands of polyestor threads that are widely available.
