I'll need a short Steelhead rod near the end of August and have narrowed it down to the IST993F and the IP903F (I think the 993 might be too long though). Has anyone built either of these with a 0-60-120-180 spiral wrap (don't want a bumper wrap)? I'll probably use my Daiwa Luna 253 reel that the spool top sits 2" off the reelseat so I'll probably use a 16mm butt with 6mm running guides and tip. Would I want all 10mm tranistion guides or what? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/01/2007 11:31AM by Tim Collins. Re: Anyone spiral wrap a Batson IST993F or IP903F?

I wouldn't think you need a larger transition guide than an 8. I'd use a high frame 12 before a 16 stripper. Another blank I'd look at for a shorter rod would be the Lamiglas RR902MT. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
