Anyone know who sells them? I saw that Batson makes them, but haven't seen them on any websites.
I have access to a lathe, but thought I might try the premade route first before investing in mandrels, etc. Re: premade split grips

Alex,
You can build them also easily with a drill bit and a hand drill. Take a regular rear grip and cut 2 1/2 inches off each end. Now just slide the grip pieces on the drill bit with the side your working on closest to the chuck. Turn on the drill and shape to suit your application with a litttle sand paper. They shape up very quickly. Doing you own you can modify the shape/ end diameter to suit different diameter rod blanks to keep a more consistant look over a set of rods. Re: premade split grips

Another way is to simply use 2" or 21/2" foregrips with winding checks to trim them off, and a "fixed fighting butt"
Here is a link to some of those; [www.schneidersrods.com] [www.schneidersrods.com] Hope this helps Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Re: premade split grips
