One of my GUSA bass customers just brought this blank in today. He hasn't any idea what it would be good for here in the Pacific Northwest, and neither do I, except general bottom fishing, so I thought I'd ask what other people have used it for? Re: GUSA ASW 70 MH

Bottom Fishing in teh Northeast it is good for up to 6/8oz, and with 1" off the tip it will be good with 10oz (Mine is cut like that and extended to 7'6). You can underhand flip 10oz with it far enough without worrying abotu it blowing up. I've also lifted fish to 7#'s up over teh rail on a PArty Boat with it. IT also excels at drifting 2-6oz for Fluk e(Flounder), and bouncing along the bottom.
IT's intended use, I think was jigging 2-5oz metal. That blank has a LOT more power than it looks, don't be decieved by that "light" tip. When a fish is one the rod bends pretty far down and that butt section really allows you to lay into a fish if need be. A friend fishes the Head Boats in Florida with this rod for Kingfish, using a Penn 535GS reel (Hello John!!) For here, it's a very versatile blank, one of my friends has been using it to Live Line Bunker for Striped Bass. THE "light" tip doesn't wear teh fish out as it swims, and setting teh hook isn't a problem. This is NOT th eideal blank for this type of fishing, but it does work if need be. He preferred teh 70H and 70 Monster. Re: GUSA ASW 70 MH
