I was reading on the back of my Rod Bond and it said to let stand for 24 hours. What is the shortest period of time to wait on cork rings to dry before shaping them? Re: Dry time for Rod Bond

I'd probably go with 24 hours Re: Dry time for Rod Bond

Rod Bond's an epoxy and epoxy curing time can be shortened by higher temperatures. At around 70 degrees, I'd wait 24 hours. Putter Williston, ND Re: Dry time for Rod Bond

Thanks for the info. Maybe I need to get the Ultimate Epoxy from Lamar Fishing so I can be working on the grips now instead of waiting. Re: Dry time for Rod Bond

Utlimate is just super. You have your choice of 5min or 15 min for cork applications.

You can push your rod bond with heat.
I put my glue ups in my drying box which is around 90°. Ralph had said on the board here that 6 hours would be enough for shaping. ........................... Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Re: Dry time for Rod Bond

I have shaped in as little as 8 hrs...especially if the grip is left out in the garage in the heat of the day during that period. I basicly just test to see if the bit that has squeezed out between the rings is firm and not still tacky. If it is not tacky, I shape away and haven't had any problems at all.
