Hi All: I am planning to build 3 rods (one each for myself, my wife and my brother-in-law) for fishing sea trout and redfish off the coast in Texas. We are all accomplished fresh water fly fishermen.
I would appreciate any suggestions on the type of blanks, handles, etc. to use. I do not want to spend hundreds of dollars for each blank, but would like good blanks. Also, what type of action should we look for? Thanks, Harold Re: Salt Water Fly Rod

Hi Harold,
We sponsor several of the top saltwater flyfishing guides here on the Texas Coast with the CTS product. One of them was formerly a SAGE/Loomis endorsd guide and switched exclusively to CTS. This particular fellow is the guide responsible for both the current Adult and Junior Texas State Record for RedFish on Fly, which were both featured in Gulf Coast Connections Magazine back in March of this year. Email me directly, and I'll be happy to provide you with all the info you need regarding the outfitting of your rod. FYI, I am based in Texas and flyfish the Central Texas Coast from Rockport to the Lower Laguna Madre on a monthly (sometimes weekly) basis, and am very familiar with your requirements. Additionally I can put you in touch with one of our endorsed guides if you'd like to go chase some really REALLY big RedFish, and you could actually demo a finished rod built on the CTS platform on the water before you made any sort of purchase. I am waiting for Andy to tell me how much an Affinity S blank will cost me. I had a chance to cast a 9 wt. that Andy wrapped for our favorite Texas Fly Fishing guide. It is one of those rods that once you cast it your brain tells you, "I want one of these." Build one, you will not be disappointed. Re: Salt Water Fly Rod
