Have Dan send a top and guides with the blank, he carries a good selection. That way you get the correct one. Published specs are not always correct for each blank you receive. Re: blank spec's

Date: July 15, 2007 07:03PM That blank being a 3wt and 8'6" long is going to have a small tip. What I do with all the blanks I get is get the tip-top to fit the blank plus an additional tip-top the next size larger. That way if the person you built the rod for breaks the tip of the rod you will most likely have a tip-top to repair it with. I does happen. It is nice to have some extra guides and such on had for emergency repairs and is a lot less costly and less time consuming than having a supplier ship you 1 or 2 tip-tops/guides. I always order 3 tt for each blank. One on the spec, one under and one over. That way I'm sure to have the one that fits. I end up with an assortment of tips that I put in a plano box and keep and before long I have enough that I can alway fit almost any blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
