Wire Line and Pac Bay Boat Guides XBBG

This may be a stupid question but I just purchased some Pac Bay wired Frame Boat guides for a trolling rod I am re-building that uses wire line. I just assumed since they looked exactly like the guides I took off that they would be ok. Will the Stainless steel frame wear well over time against the wire lines. I am not sure the type of wire line and it is possible that stainless wire is being used.

Thanks

Steve Lynas

I have built hundreds of wire line rods over the years and this is what I have found. If you are using braided wire [multi strand] use roller guides as the braided wire acts like a hacksaw blade and will cut SIC and Carbaloy guides, If using single strand any ring guide will work but Sic and Carbaloy are best.
