Hey Guys. Looking for a source for braced titanium or silicon carbide (or whatever is top notch) wire surf guides. Who carries them? I know both fuji and pac bay make them. Thanks.

Dan,
The only wire silicone carbide guide (Ceramic Ring) I know of is the Hopkins and Holloway guides. Maybe your talking about the Carbide metal ringed guides. Angler's Workshop has them from a couple manufacturers. Fuji Titanium braced guides can be bought from just about any of the sponsors. Custom Tackle, Angler's, Mudhole and others have them on the shelf all the time, these are the cadillac guides. They come in Gold Cermet or Silicon Carbide rings depending on the amount you want to spend and the look your after, the Cermets are very spendy. American Tackle now has the Titans in many guide configurations and the ceramics they use are also good and a better value.

I don't think either Fuji or Pac Bay make any wire guides. Pac Bay may still carry some stainless wire guide types, but what you're talking about would seem to be stamped frame guides carrying ceramic rings, not wire guides.

I've got stainless wire guides, braced, with industrial hard chrome plating up to size 75. My silicon carbide or aluminum oxide ring guides don't go above size 40 or 50 depending on the type.

I am using thinking of a different material. The guides I am looking for are a braced metal guide with no ring. Maybe a titanium plated. The ones my friends use are definitely pac bay or fuji. They come in a silver or gunsmoke color. They usually get size 60 rings for the stripper.

Anyways, thanks for the replies guys. Always a huge help.

Sincerely,
Dan Colville

dan - those guide are pacbay. stainless chrome unbraced are xsg-series and braced are xbsg-series. TiCH-series are stainless w/ a gunmetal colored chrome over them. cxsg are unbraced. braced are cxbsg. unless you are going after that vintage look and only using mono, i'd recommend ceramic guides.
