Tip Top Identification

I am trying to re-buildfan old sentimental trolling rod for a friend. The tip top looks like a door stop. You know those spring things that stop the doors well this tip top is exactly like that. It is approx. 2 1/4 inched long and it funnels from small at the tip end to a approx. 5/8 diameter on the end of it. Does anyone know where to get new ones or are tey some type of relic and no longer in circulation. He claims the rod is for wire line and I am rellacing the guides with solid boat guides.

Andrew
They are still available, I'm having a dificult time finding the manufacturer though. I'm sure someone will chime in as there was a thread about the top you are looking for 2 or 3 months ago. I'm just having difficulty finding the thread. If you do some searching I'm sure you will find it.

Regards
Dave

They are referred to as twilly tips. The old ones are really hard to come by, the last one I did I had to buff and have rechromed, It was pricey but in the end the customer thought it was better than when it was new!
