Have not received my Rod Maker issue on this, but have been trying.
2 things: First, on the underwrap, what finish is recommended? just CP? thin epoxy? Second, when doing the overwrap are we supposed to lay the threads on in the opposite direction? THANKS ! -Steve Tampa, FL Re: TIger Question

Both should work, but the 3D depth would be seen with the epoxy just like the effect from putting your decals or names over a coat of epoxy. You can wrap your second wrap with a sacrificial second thread along side to get the spacing correct than remove the second thread. Re: TIger Question

I have started using two coats of finish on the Underwrap portion and it seems to give the moire effect even greater prominence. You will get an different effect wrapping the same direction but I think the opposite direction has the bes effect. Re: TIger Question

TY - Also, how long are you letting the underwrap coat harden? 24 hours... longer? -Steve Tampa, FL Re: TIger Question

I have been letting it sit for 24 hours but since many People use CP on the over wrap I would think you can wait even longer. Re: TIger Question

Steve,
You'll have to subscribe before you can get that issue. In fact, that was the issue that mailed back in April. The volume 10-3 issue is out now, and if you recently subscribed that's the issue you'll get as your first one. ............ Re: TIger Question

Tom - I ordered several back issues last week... including the Tiger issue. Are you saying I won't be able to get it? I was planning on subscribing, but wanted to see a few issues first. Also - i f I will be getting those back issues, any idea on how long it will take? Thanks! -Steve Tampa, FL Re: TIger Question

If you ordered it as a back issue you'll indeed be getting it. I was assuming, incorrectly, that you had recently subscribed and were waiting on #10-2 as your first issue.
Back issues generally take about a week to 10 days to get to you from the time you ordered it. I suspect you'll see your's this week. ............ Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
